About this workshop
Therapy in Action provides affordable workshops, lectures, and resources led by some of the brightest minds in mental health and psychotherapy. Whether you’re a therapist, coach, or someone passionate about mental health, our experts will offer insights that can transform your life and practice. Join Our First Lecture Topic: Working with Resistance in Psychotherapy Lecturer: Prof. Dr. Aleksandar Dimitrijević, Interim Professor at International Psychoanalytic University Berlin Date: October 5th, 11 AM CET (Online) No matter how motivated someone may be, or how intense their suffering, there will always be some form of resistance to the changes that psychotherapy encourages. At first glance, this seems paradoxical. Despite a desire for healing, ambivalence is a natural part of the process, and it becomes especially noticeable in therapeutic settings. But how do we recognize these resistances? How can we work through them? How do we avoid overlooking or neglecting them? And how can we become more aware of how they affect us as therapists? Prof. Dimitrijević will guide us through understanding and navigating these challenges, sharing practical strategies to work with resistance (and not against it).
