A Little About Me
My Practice
Hello, welcome to my page. I'm so glad you're here.
I'm Natalie, a clinical psychologist and somatic psychotherapist with over 10 years of experience in mental health and wellbeing. I work with various expressions of psychological distress, but my main speciality is in helping women struggling with eating disorders and disordered eating. It is my heartfelt intention to support to create and sustain a lasting and self-compassionate recovery so that you can finally live your life with confidence, freedom, and ease.
I wholeheartedly believe that you are deserving of a better life and a freer existence regardless of how long you have been struggling with your issues with food, body image, and eating.
I have been supporting women in their recovery from eating disorders since 2015, and have worked across all levels of care when it comes to the treatment of eating disorders and their associated comorbidities.
I also have lived experience of recovery and freedom from an eating disorder. As such, I know how daunting, confusing and painful recovery is, however, I also know that change, healing, and growth is 100% possible with the right support, understanding, and determination.
I blend various applications of psychotherapy with neuropsychology and spirituality to help you heal on the level of Body, Mind, & Spirit.
What I'm Like
I bring a genuine, down to earth, warm, and insightful presence to our sessions and tailor my approach according to your needs.
What Can You Expect From My Sessions
You can expect curiousity, empathy, and a willingness to listen and understand what you are hoping to explore and navigate. I seek to build a real relationship with you through our being together. This means I am not a blank slate and I am very much with you as a practitioner!
I like to keep my sessions open, explorative, and fluid so that your natural wisdom can emerge. I will be guided by you and seek to honor your autonomy. However, this does not mean that there is no room for structure. When appropriate we will work in a more direct or structured way as agreed between the both of us to help you move toward something more specific or goal-oriented.
I will teach you how you can work through your difficulty through teaching you different skills (from western and eastern psychology) and through the use of story telling and metaphor. I will also share personal examples from my life to support your process and understanding when appropriate.
If you are working on recovery from an eating disorder or disordered eating: I will work closely with you to define your goals for recovery, and help you challenge your fears, acknowledge your strengths, and keep you accountable in the most compassionate way as you move toward building sustainable change, growth, and healing. I will also work closely with anyone else who is on your treatment team and help monitor your safety from a physical point of view as needed.

Our first session
I understand how anxiety-provoking the first session can be as you are starting something new and about to open up to a complete stranger. That's why I always tell my clients that the first session is most essentially about us getting a feel for each other.
I will usually begin by warmly welcoming you before checking in with how it feels for you to be on the call with me. I will then give you a brief overview of what you can expect from this first session to help you settle in. Usually, this involves exploring what brought you to therapy, and your past experiences of therapy. The first session is usually very open and flexible, mostly centered in me listening deeply to you, and for you to ask me any questions you might have to see if we might be a good fit to start working together.
